Why Climb Croatia?

Croatia is often overlooked when it comes to adventure travel destinations. Let us be the first to say Dalmatia is an absolute gem of the Med. Flaunting its incredible landscapes and excellent quality of rock climbing, there’s no other way to describe it except stunning. That’s why we’re inviting you to join us as we explore these deeply scenic natural areas and work on our sport climbing skills.

The country has over a thousand islands, eight national parks, eleven nature parks, over 3000 miles of coastline, and ten World Heritage sites. Enjoy these landscapes straight from Game of Thrones!

Croatia truly has a lot for its visitors: Paklenica climbing sites, the beautiful beaches of central Dalmatia, incredible cuisine, fabulous wines, unique cultures and kayaking around its islands. Join us for an unforgettable 6-day / 6-night expedition through one of Europe's most exceptional countries.

Expedition Itinerary:

Dates:
October 13th-18th 2024

October 12th: Arrival in Split

Accommodations and transfers are all set and ready.  We will ensure you have all the appropriate meeting points if you are already in-country. For those of you getting in late, we'll stay up and welcome you in!

Day 1 October 13th: Exploring Split

Wake up in Split and enjoy breakfast while we meet the guides and crew. Enjoy a day in this ancient Roman city via a historical tour.  This walkabout is of the old town and Diocletian's Palace. We'll take a short walk to local markets to prepare for the next few days of exploration.

In the afternoon, we will climb on the cliff walls of Split, overlooking the ocean. Today will be a fun warm-up to this incredible style of climbing. Wildkine will host a dinner this night with a detailed rundown of the coming days.

Day 2 October 14th: Off to The Islands

We'll rise early and get packed up for the ferry to the island of Hvar. This island is known for its wine, olive oil, lavender, and, most recently, its amazing climbing right on the Adriatic Sea.
After the ferry ride, we'll go grocery shopping for anything you need for personal meals. Settle into your apartment and enjoy the ocean views before meeting back up with the group.

In the late afternoon, we will set up some top ropes for you to get to know the climbing. Enjoy the rock faces (weather permitting) above the scenic cliffs of the Adriatic Sea. Tonight, Wildkine will host a group dinner Croatian style.

Day 3 October 15th: Climbing & Wine

Today, we will spend all day on the rock walls above these turquoise waters. We'll break down the basics and work on improving technical skills. To ensure everyone is climbing securely, we will start getting some mileage and routes under our belt! In the evening, we'll join local winemaker Miro underground to tour the Plavac wine cave. Enjoy tapas and find out why Croatian wine is world-famous.

Day 4 October 16th: A Hike Into The Clouds

Via Ferrata and a Hike day! This is a hike like you've never been on before! We'll hook into cables and traverse the cliffs above Sveta Nedilja.. Beware, breathtaking views ahead! Not into that... we have a beautiful hike option that gets you to the same spot without being on the cliff edge. In the evening you'll have your choice of going back to the rock wall or hanging out (tanning, reading, swimming ,chilling in your apartment, etc.).

Day 5 October 17th: Island Hopping via kayak

Wake up and enjoy some good coffee and breakfast.  We will takeout the kayaks with Peak and Paddle Croatia in the late morning! Afterwards, we'll paddle out to a few different islands, have lunch and then paddle back to the incredible city of Hvar. We'll change out of our kayak clothes then hike to a nearby castle. Tonight you'll have dinner beneath a castle, in the old city center with an ocean view.

Day 6 October 18th: Climbing and back to Split

Wake up for a final morning of climbing. We'll take the ferry back to Split after lunch for our final day together. After checking in to our final night's accommodation, we'll host a farewell dinner for the group and then go out in downtown Split. This is the last official day of the trip. Whether you're leaving early the next morning or staying a few more days, we're happy to help you set up the logistics!

This workshop is designed to enhance your sport climbing knowledge. We will run several climbing sessions with lessons and practice in between.

We'll focus on climbing movement and technical skills throughout our progression of the trip. You'll be able to practice and put these skills into use with support from your professional climbing guide.
